Gehringer Brothers Old Vines Auxerrois 2014 This winery was established in 1985 by brothers Walter & Gordon Gehringer, also known as the Kings of Platinum for having won 47 platinum awards for their wines over the years. The Auxerrois grape variety was introduced from France. A very well established grape in Alsace, it is often blended with Pinot Blanc. Grape 100% Auxerrois Tasting Notes Medium bodied with notes of orchard fruits, spice and hints of honey. This is a well-balanced, easy drinking wine. Food Pairing Delicious on its own or paired with shellfish or charcuterie.

Road 13 Old Vines Chenin Blanc 2014 Their motto “it’s all about the dirt” reinforces the importance of terroir. Road 13 has 50 acres under vine on the Golden Mile (Home Vineyard & Castle Vineyard); the Chenin vines were planted in 1968 at Home Vineyard. A typically late ripening grape varietal, harvesting takes place towards the end of October. This is also a wild fermented wine, and a wine that can be aged. Grape 100% Chenin Blanc Tasting Notes Notes of orchard fruit, citrus, honey and minerals. The palate is full bodied & round with lush fruit & crisp acidity. Fairview Cellars Bucket O’Blood 2011 Owned and operated by Bill Eggert since 1989, Fairview Cellars is a 10-acre boutique winery. The wine’s namesake is in honour of the Moffatt Saloon, which the miners of the 1890s nicknamed “The Bucket Of Blood.” A blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon or Cabernet Franc depending on the year/quality of the grapes. Grape Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Cab Franc Tasting Notes Savoury notes of black plum & cassis and cracked pepper. The palate is medium bodied with ripe fruits. CC Jentsch “The Dance” Rose 2014 While the winery is new (opened 3 years ago in a converted apple processing plant) the family has been growing fruit in this region since 1929. CC Jentsch has 63 acres under vine split right down the middle of the Golden Mile/Black Sage Bench. This Rose is a blend from both benches. Grape 55% Merlot, 20% Cab Franc, 12%Syrah, 11%Cab Sauv, 2%Malbec. Tasting Note A bowl full of ripe cherry, currant and plum fruit with savoury notes. The palate is juicy & lush with ripe fruits and a crisp dry finish. Food Pairing Grilled seafood, Haloumi with summer salad.

Culmina R & D Blend 2014 Culmina is owned & operated by the former CEO of Vincor International, Don Triggs, and his wife and daughter. They currently have 54 acres under vine. The Margaret Bench Vineyard where they grow Gruner Veltliner, boasts the highest altitude plantings in the Okanagan at 600 metres. Grape Blend of Merlot, Cab Sauv & Cab Franc Tasting Notes Black plum & cherry fruits with vanilla & spice, toasted oak. The palate is full bodied, with juicy red & black fruits and a lingering dry finish. Youthful. Decant or cellar.

Tinhorn Creek Chardonnay 2014 Tinhorn Creek was established in 1993 with a total of 150 acres (50 of which are on the Golden Mile). While the fruit from this wine comes mostly from the Black Sage Bench (which slightly defeats the purpose) it’s really yummy and should be experienced. This is a wild fermented Chardonnay where only naturally occurring yeasts are used for fermentation. Grape 100% Chardonnay Tasting Notes Both orchard & tropical fruits with hints of citrus and toasted oak. A full bodied Chard with well balanced acidity. Nice length with lingering minerality. Food Pairing Lobster, Mac & Cheese , bacon wrapped scallops.
